Retail prices for dairy products in Ukraine continue to rise, even though the exchange values of dairy raw materials have decreased. Consumers are still seeing high price tags on supermarket shelves, despite the gradual decline in the purchase price of milk.

Large retail chains are importing butter and other dairy products from Poland under long-term contracts, which intensifies competition for Ukrainian producers. This approach creates challenging conditions for the domestic market and affects the pricing policies of local companies.

Detailed Overview of Prices for Key Dairy Products

According to analysts, in February 2026, the average retail prices for key dairy products are as follows:

  • Pasteurized Milk (up to 2.6% fat, in packaging) — 47.75 UAH/kg, which is 12 kopecks (-0.2%) cheaper than last month, but 4.66 UAH (+11%) more expensive than the same period last year.
  • Kefir (2.5% fat, in packaging) — 62.49 UAH/kg, an increase of 2.39 UAH (+4%) over the month and 7.86 UAH (+14%) over the year.
  • Sour Cream (15% fat, in packaging) — 153.26 UAH/kg, a slight increase of 9 kopecks (+0.09%) over the month and 19.55 UAH (+15%) over the year.
  • Drinking Yogurt (1.6-2.8% fat, in bottles) — 118.83 UAH/kg, an increase of 8 kopecks (+0.07%) over the month and 8.18 UAH (+7%) over the year.
  • Spoon Yogurt (1.6-2.8% fat, in cups) — 163.69 UAH/kg, a decrease of 30 kopecks (-0.2%) over the month, but 2.60 UAH (+2%) more expensive over the year.
  • Cottage Cheese (9% fat) — 293.05 UAH/kg, which is 2.89 UAH (+1%) more expensive over the month and 28.33 UAH (+11%) more expensive over the year.
  • Butter (72.5-73% fat, Ukrainian production) — 593.57 UAH/kg, a decrease of 1.55 UAH (-0.3%) over the month, but 46.86 UAH (+9%) more expensive over the year.
  • Ukrainian Cheese (50% fat) — 594.54 UAH/kg, a decrease of 5.13 UAH (-0.9%) over the month, but 64.34 UAH (+12%) more expensive over the year.
  • Dutch Cheese (45% fat) — 609.70 UAH/kg, an increase of 2.15 UAH (+0.4%) over the month and 78.21 UAH (+15%) over the year.
  • Maasdam Cheese (45% fat, Ukrainian production) — 734.88 UAH/kg, a decrease of 9.87 UAH (-1.3%) over the month, but 80.29 UAH (+12%) more expensive over the year.
  • Gouda Cheese (45% fat, Ukrainian production) — 579.42 UAH/kg, an increase of 6.23 UAH (+1%) over the month and 25.88 UAH (+5%) over the year.
  • Mozzarella (45% fat, Ukrainian production) — 583.67 UAH/kg, a decrease of 6.69 UAH (-1%) over the month, but 27.95 UAH (+5%) more expensive over the year.
