For the first time in history, a fleet of electric trucks carrying grain has departed for the ports of Odesa in Ukraine. This event was reported by agrarian Oleg Shchehelskyi from Poltava region.

“A historic event! The first trip of electric trucks to the ports of Odesa!” wrote the agrarian.

Details of the Trip and Expert Opinions

According to the head of the storage department at Kernel, Serhii Shcherban, these two electric trucks will cover a distance of about 800 km one way for the first time in Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of creating the necessary infrastructure for such transportation, particularly the establishment of intermediate charging stations, which is a key factor for the development of electric transport in logistics.

“The future of logistics for freight transport has already arrived. As far as I understand, these two electric trucks will cover a distance of approximately 800 km one way for the first time in Ukraine. Of course, for such routes, it is essential to have the appropriate infrastructure, including the establishment of intermediate charging stations,” he noted.

Prospects for the Development of Electric Freight Transport

Serhii Shcherban also highlighted that the development of electric freight transport in Ukraine will progress more dynamically than the expansion of the charging station network for passenger cars. This opens up new opportunities for the agricultural sector and contributes to the improvement of logistics in grain transportation.
