Export Prices for Rapeseed in Ukraine Rise to $535/ton Due to Formation of Shipments
In Ukraine, at the beginning of January, export procurement prices for rapeseed showed a significant increase, rising by $5–10/ton and reaching levels of $530–535/ton, which in the national currency amounts to 23,000–24,000 UAH/ton with delivery to Black Sea ports. The main factor behind this increase is the necessity for traders to quickly form export shipments.

Impact of the Situation in Ports on the Rapeseed Market
Despite the price increase, traders are refraining from entering into new contracts until the operations of the seaports stabilize. Disruptions in logistics are related to the lack of electricity at terminals and constant shelling, which complicates export operations.
“Shelling of ports and oil extraction plants in Ukraine has sharply reduced procurement prices for rapeseed to 22,500-23,700 UAH/ton, as some large plants have halted purchases, while others lack export demand for oil and meal.”
Forecasts for Farmers and the Oilseed Market
Experts advise Ukrainian farmers to activate rapeseed sales as early as January. This is due to the expected increase in the supply of soybeans from South America, as well as rapeseed from European producers in February and March. Such a situation may lead to a decrease in prices for oilseeds in the European Union market.
