Investments in Irrigation and Self-Sufficiency Programs

The expansion of food wheat production is taking place within the framework of the national program to enhance food self-sufficiency, approved by President Ilham Aliyev. From 2022 to 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan signed agreements with farmers to grow wheat on over 29 thousand hectares of irrigated land. In 2025, a subsidy of 100 manats was in effect for each ton of grain delivered to procurement points.
