During an online meeting of representatives from JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” and participants in the agricultural market, held on February 5, it was noted that in January there were mixed fluctuations in the volume of grain cargo transfers at Ukraine’s western borders.

The Ukrainian-Hungarian transport connection showed the most significant growth: in January, the volume of grain transfers to Hungary increased to 58.5 wagons per day, which is 6.9 units more compared to December.

Decline in Volumes on Slovak, Polish, and Romanian Routes

At the same time, the average daily volume of grain transfers through the Ukrainian-Slovak border crossings decreased by 7.6 wagons, amounting to 23.4 units per day. A reduction in volumes was also recorded at the Ukrainian-Polish crossings: in January, 9.2 wagons per day were transported across these borders, which is 2.7 units less than in December.

The lowest figure remained at the Ukrainian-Romanian crossings — only 5.3 wagons with grain per day. This is 2.6 units less compared to the previous month.
