Harvesting of Soybeans and Sunflowers in Ukraine is Coming to an End: Current Harvest Results

The harvest of grain and oilseed crops in Ukraine is nearing completion. As of November 7, Ukrainian farmers have already harvested 43.63 million tons of grain from an area of 9.3 million hectares, which is 81% of the area sown with these crops.

Summary of Grain Harvest

• Wheat: 22.82 million tons from an area of 5.05 million hectares.
• Barley: 5.37 million tons from an area of 1.35 million hectares.
• Peas: 660.7 thousand tons from an area of 271.3 thousand hectares.
• Corn: 13.75 million tons from an area of 2.21 million hectares, which is 53% of the planned harvest.
• Other grains and legumes: 883.4 thousand tons from an area of 321 thousand hectares.

Among the leaders in terms of harvested volumes are Odesa region (3.82 million tons), Chernihiv region (3.68 million tons), Poltava region (3.43 million tons), and Vinnytsia region (3.28 million tons).

Status of Oilseed and Sugar Beet Harvest

As of November 6, farmers have already harvested 16.35 million tons of oilseed crops. Of these:

• Sunflower: 8.73 million tons from an area of 4.61 million hectares.
• Soybeans: 4.31 million tons from an area of 1.83 million hectares.
• Rapeseed: 3.32 million tons from an area of 1.27 million hectares.

Sunflowers have been harvested from 90% of the sown area, soybeans from 84%, and the harvesting of rapeseed has already been completed.

Regarding sugar beets, 7.95 million tons have been harvested from an area of 151 thousand hectares, which is 76% of the total sown area.
