Honey Production in Ukraine Decreased by 7.6% in 2024: Statistics and Leading Regions

In 2024, the volume of honey production in Ukraine amounted to 53.5 thousand tons, which is 7.6% less compared to the previous year. This information was released by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Honey Production by Types of Farms

Agricultural enterprises produced 425 tons of honey in 2024, which is 12.2% less compared to the same period in 2023. At the same time, farm enterprises significantly increased their activity: their contribution rose by 55.4% and reached 101 tons of honey.

Household farms also experienced a decrease in production: in 2024, they obtained 53.1 thousand tons of product, which is 7.5% less than in 2023.

Regional Leaders in Honey Production

Traditionally, the leader in honey production in Ukraine remains Khmelnytskyi Oblast, which provided 6.1 thousand tons in 2024. The top three producers also included Zhytomyr Oblast with 5.5 thousand tons and Kirovohrad Oblast, where 4.9 thousand tons of honey were harvested.

The State Statistics Service notes that the data is provided without accounting for the temporarily occupied territories by the Russian Federation and parts of territories where hostilities are ongoing (or have occurred).
