Sustainable Development and New Jobs

The capacity of the new enterprise is 140 tons of products per year. The plant will employ 20 people, contributing to job growth in the region and increasing local budget revenues. As emphasized by Oleksandr Koval, the head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration,

“For the community, this means additional taxes and 20 new jobs.”

The launch of production serves as a positive example of successful implementation of public-private partnerships in the agricultural sector, highlighted Oleksandr Koval. The opening of the plant was attended by Felix Baumann, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine.

Support for Organic Production and Expansion Plans

The new mini plant is based on 15 hectares of berry fields, where strawberries, raspberries, and currants are grown. In the future, there are plans to increase the production of frozen products to 1000 tons per year. Ambassador Felix Baumann noted that his country has been supporting the development of organic production in Ukraine for over two decades and emphasized the importance of considering the specific needs of each region for effective assistance.

The mini freeze plant for berries has become the first Swiss public-private partnership project in Ukraine’s agricultural sector, opening new opportunities for organic berry farming and the development of the local economy.
