A Modern Elevator and Dry Port for 30,000 Tons of Grain to Be Built in Lviv Region

A powerful elevator capable of storing up to 30,000 tons of grain simultaneously is planned to be built in the Belz community of the Lviv region, along with the creation of a so-called dry port. This project will be the first stage of a large initiative to modernize Ukraine’s agricultural sector.

Large-Scale Initiative for Agricultural Infrastructure Development
According to the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, this project aims to lay the foundation for the emergence of hundreds of grain storage facilities across the country, a sprawling network of dry ports, modern logistics hubs, deep processing plants, bioclusters, and to create new opportunities for export and technological renewal in the agricultural sector.
“This is the beginning of a large-scale project that envisions hundreds of grain storage facilities throughout Ukraine, a network of dry ports, modern logistics hubs, deep processing plants, bioclusters, new opportunities for export, and technological renewal of the agricultural sector. We are starting from Lviv region,”
Project Financing and Partners
As part of the collaboration, the Lviv Regional State Administration, Lviv Regional Council, Belz City Council, and AgHoldCo have already signed a memorandum to commence the project implementation. AgHoldCo will cover the majority of the financing for the construction of the elevator and dry port, receiving support from the investment fund UAF Partners. The company will provide 80–85% of all investments.
To finance each elevator, AgHoldCo plans to secure a loan from the Danish State Export Agency EIFO amounting to 12 million dollars. The Belz community will also contribute to the financing, ensuring at least 3 million dollars for each individual subproject.
Construction work is expected to begin this year. This project is anticipated to mark the start of a large-scale transformation of domestic agricultural infrastructure, opening new prospects for Ukrainian farmers and exporters.
