Increase in Aquatic Biological Resource Extraction
According to information provided by the occupying authorities, the volumes of aquatic biological resource extraction have increased by 2,700 tons over the past three years. In 2024, the occupants exported a significant amount of fish and other marine inhabitants, including sprat, anchovy, goby, pike perch, flounder, as well as shrimp and rapana mollusks.
Impact on the Ecosystem and Local Economy
These actions pose a threat to the marine ecosystem and have a negative impact on the local economy, as fish are an important resource for the residents of the region. The catch and export of aquatic resources undermine ecological balance and hinder the recovery of fish stocks in the Sea of Azov.
