According to the minister, this farm is not just a production enterprise, but a complete cycle that encompasses the entire process from incubation to the sale of meat. Five poultry complexes operate here, with over 100,000 duck eggs being laid simultaneously, using modern European equipment. The enterprise employs 103 staff members who support the stability of the region’s economic front on a daily basis.
Development of the Agricultural Sector in the Frontline Zone
Vitaliy Koval emphasized that even in the challenging conditions of war, one of the largest duck breeding enterprises in Ukraine operates in the city of Donetsk. Over the past year, more than 2,500 tons of poultry were raised here, and duck meat was sold in 12 regions of Ukraine. The enterprise paid over 13 million hryvnias in taxes and contributes to ensuring the country’s food security.
“Together with the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, I had the opportunity to personally see how life continues in the difficult conditions of a large war. And how new life is born, quite literally – in modern incubators that hatch ducklings for all of Ukraine”
The minister also discussed with the management of the enterprise issues related to stable logistics routes, export support, and production stimulation. This is important for supporting enterprises that feed Ukraine and ensure its food independence.
Supporting the Ukrainian Economy in Frontline Regions
He stressed that Donetsk, despite being on the front lines, continues to work and develop. “We will not allow the destruction of the Ukrainian economy. We support every farmer, every enterprise, everyone who creates a strong food foundation for our country – even tens of kilometers from the front,” said Vitaliy Koval.
