In Ukraine, prices for popular vegetables, berries, and fruits are showing mixed dynamics. Over the past week, significant changes have been observed in the market, influenced by both seasonality and the level of supply of individual products.

Vegetables: From Price Drops to Price Surges

The increase in carrot sales has led to a decrease in its price: currently, this root vegetable is offered at 13-20 UAH/kg, whereas previously prices ranged from 16-25 UAH/kg. At the same time, the low supply of onions has allowed sellers to raise prices from 9-17 to 11-20 UAH/kg.

Cucumbers have become more expensive, rising from 23-30 to 28-50 UAH/kg, while the lower price limit for tomatoes has decreased from 30 to 25 UAH/kg. Eggplants have become more affordable, with their price dropping from 70-100 to 40-50 UAH/kg. A similar trend is observed with the “Bilozerka” pepper, which now costs 53-60 UAH/kg instead of the previous 60-70 UAH/kg.

Broccoli is also becoming cheaper: its price has decreased from 30-50 to 30-40 UAH/kg. However, the price of Chinese cabbage has risen from 12-25 to 23-27 UAH/kg. Cauliflower has more than doubled in price — from 10-30 to 45-60 UAH/kg. Garlic prices are not decreasing as quickly: from 70-130 to 60-120 UAH/kg.

Berries and Fruits: Price Increases and the First Ukrainian Apples

In the fruit and berry segment, there is a steady increase in cherry prices — it is sold for 180-220 UAH/kg, whereas a week ago it cost 150-200 UAH/kg. Strawberries have also significantly increased in price: the cost has risen from 100-170 to 160-260 UAH/kg.

Apricots and cherries are being sold at higher prices than last week — 110-150 UAH/kg (previously 80-120 UAH/kg) and 120-165 UAH/kg (previously 105-150 UAH/kg), respectively. At the same time, raspberry prices have decreased from 160-250 to 150-185 UAH/kg, and blueberries have become cheaper from 220-380 to 190-280 UAH/kg.

“The first Ukrainian apples of the new harvest have appeared on the shelves, although their prices are almost twice as high as last year. The season started with a price of 60-70 UAH per kilogram.”

Pears have become more affordable — their minimum price has dropped from 80 to 70 UAH/kg. The expansion of watermelon supply has allowed sellers to reduce retail prices from 16-22 to 15-20 UAH/kg.
