Ovostar Changes Egg Export Directions Due to War: Main Market — Europe

The company “Yasensvit,” which is part of the “Ovostar Union” structure, announced a change in the main markets for the sale of eggs and egg products during the full-scale war. The General Director of “Yasensvit,” Yulia Fliorova, shared at the forum that logistical complications caused by the war have significantly affected the geography of exports.

The European Market Becomes a Priority for Exports

According to Yulia Fliorova, at the beginning of the hostilities, the company lost all traditional logistics chains; however, exports were later restored, albeit through entirely different routes. Prior to the invasion, the main importers of the products were countries in the Middle East and Africa. Nevertheless, under current conditions, Europe has become the primary export destination.

Fliorova noted that delivery to European countries is simpler, although it is not necessarily cheaper or more stable, as there are certain challenges.

Challenges of Certification and Internal Logistics

“By the way, even within an organization like the EU, each member country has its own nuances of product certification,” she explained. “This means it is impossible to export eggs under one standard, for example, to the Netherlands and Belgium or Sweden, as they have different requirements. However, there are prospects for development.”

In addition to new export routes, the war has complicated internal supplies as well. The destroyed infrastructure, blocked or damaged transport highways, and the temporary occupation of certain territories prevent the delivery of products to several frontline regions. Logistics to Kharkiv remains particularly challenging.
