Palm Oil Production in Malaysia Increased by 17% in March 2025

The export of palm oil from Malaysia rose by 0.91% in March 2025, reaching 1 million tons compared to 996 thousand tons in the previous month, according to a report from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

In its industry performance report for March 2025, MPOB noted that crude palm oil (CPO) production increased by 16.76%, reaching 1.38 million tons, surpassing 1.18 million tons in February.

Increase in Palm Oil Production

Production of palm kernels in March increased by 18.23% to 336 thousand tons. The production of crude palm kernel oil rose by 15.20% to 149.9 thousand tons, while the production of palm kernel cake increased by 20.74% to 172 thousand tons.

CPO stocks in March decreased by 5.68% to 779 thousand tons compared to 826 thousand tons in February. At the same time, stocks of processed palm oil rose by 14.63% to 783 thousand tons, while total palm oil stocks increased by 3.52% to 1.56 million tons.

Changes in Export and Import

Exports of palm kernel oil in March decreased by 3.11% to 56 thousand tons, compared to 58 thousand tons in February. Exports of palm kernel cake fell by 36.90% to 122 thousand tons, and biodiesel exports decreased by 64.46% to 14 thousand tons, compared to 42 thousand tons previously.

However, exports of oleochemical products increased by 5.74%, totaling 209 thousand tons. No CPO imports were recorded in March, while imports of palm kernel oil decreased by 0.17% to 12 thousand tons.

“The further development of the grain and oil market in Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be discussed at the 23rd International Conference, which will take place on April 24 in Kyiv.”
