Pork Prices in Ukrainian Supermarkets in March 2025: A Comparative Analysis

In March 2025, prices for popular cuts of pork in leading Ukrainian retail chains show significant fluctuations, which may affect consumer choices. An analysis of monitoring data from the Minfin portal, published by “Hvylya”, indicates that the cost of pork has increased compared to the average figures from the previous month.

Price Analysis of Main Pork Cuts

In particular, the average price for pork belly is currently 211.45 UAH per kilogram. The lowest price is offered by the Auchan chain at 199.90 UAH, while the highest is at Megamarket at 229.00 UAH. At Novus and Metro, prices range from 209.00 UAH to 207.90 UAH, respectively. In March, the average price for this item was lower at 187.19 UAH.

Among other cuts popular with consumers is the pork shoulder, which now costs an average of 229.87 UAH/kg. Prices for it are recorded at Novus (229.00 UAH), Megamarket (234.00 UAH), and Metro (226.82 UAH). Compared to March 2025, when the average price was 196.55 UAH, the cost has increased.

Prices of Other Pork Types and Trends

The most expensive type of pork remains the neck, with an average price of 326.77 UAH per kilogram. Prices range from 319.00 UAH at Novus to 339.00 UAH at Megamarket. In March 2025, the average price for this product was significantly lower at 266.70 UAH.

As for the pork belly, its average cost is 214.00 UAH/kg. This price level exceeds the figures from March 2025 (189.04 UAH). Similarly, pork ribs currently average 214.00 UAH/kg, with prices in the chains ranging from 199.00 to 229.00 UAH. In March, the average price was 182.36 UAH.

Another popular cut is shashlik. Its average price is 263.50 UAH/kg, with price ranges from 199.00 UAH at Novus to 327.50 UAH at Metro. In March, the average price for shashlik was similar at 264.17 UAH, indicating that it is now slightly lower.

Thus, the analysis shows that most pork prices in leading chains have increased compared to March 2025, with the exception of shashlik prices. Additionally, there is a significant price difference for products between stores, which may influence consumer choices.
