Price Situation and Demand for 2024 Beets

The supply of 2024 crop beets is currently limited; however, demand from buyers is not decreasing. As a result, the price of this product has remained at a record high level for several consecutive months, surpassing last season’s figures. Currently, beets are being sold at a price of 25–33 UAH/kg ($0.60–$0.80/kg) depending on quality and batch sizes. Thus, the average price is 21% higher than during the same period last year.

Price Dynamics and Market Expectations

The season for the arrival of new crop table beets has started almost simultaneously with last year. Current wholesale prices range from 32–40 UAH/kg ($0.77–$0.96/kg). With the increase in the supply of new beets, prices are gradually decreasing; however, according to market participants, this year’s decline is likely to be minimal. The reason lies in the lack of significant transitional stocks of vegetables from the 2024 crop that could influence a substantial drop in product prices.

“Prices for these root vegetables have been at a record high level for several months compared to last season’s prices.”
