Price Comparison of Fertilizers in Poland and Ukraine

In the Polish market, ammonium nitrate is sold at prices ranging from 1570 to 1950 zlotys per ton, depending on the region, manufacturer, and type of packaging. Urea costs between 2090 and 2440 zlotys/ton, complex fertilizer KAS 32% is priced at 1390–1930 zlotys/ton, polyphosphate ranges from 2350 to 2560 zlotys/ton, and potassium salt is priced at 1640–1890 zlotys/ton.

Considering the current exchange rate of the hryvnia to the zloty (100 UAH = 8.99 zlotys), the average cost of ammonium nitrate in Poland (1890 zlotys/ton) would amount to 21,012.56 UAH per ton when converted to the national currency.

“Imported nitrate in Poland was offered at prices starting from 1600 zlotys per ton, or 17,790 UAH/ton at warehouses,” specialists clarified.

Prices in the Ukrainian Market

According to monitoring results, the average wholesale price for nitrate at the beginning of June in Ukraine was 21,200 UAH/ton. Meanwhile, at regional warehouses, the price for the fertilizer was even higher — 21,500 UAH/ton in big-bag packaging.

Thus, imported fertilizers, particularly ammonium nitrate from Poland, remain cheaper than the offers from Ukrainian producers, even when accounting for logistics costs and exchange rates. This creates additional competition for national suppliers in the domestic fertilizer market.
