Processors Expect Farmers to Activate Sunflower Sales

The sunflower market is experiencing a shortage of raw materials; however, experts are confident that farmers still have significant reserves.

“Currently, the supply of sunflowers is irregular, which creates difficulties for the uninterrupted operation of enterprises. However, according to experts, farms still have enough reserves, and only at the end of the season will the real situation become clear,” noted Serhiy Zhyvytsia.

He also emphasized that the company’s production capacities are not fully loaded at the moment, so special attention is paid to quality, technology, and environmental sustainability in production.

Serhiy Zhyvytsia noted that the current economic conditions are challenging for processors: “The profitability this season is very low, while the main benefits are being received by farmers.”

Regarding product exports, the company HARVELES supplies sunflower oil to Europe, North Africa, and Asia. At the same time, the meal is currently not being exported.

Despite the challenges, the company plans to develop the production of bottled refined sunflower oil for supply to European retail chains.
