Romania Shows Record Rapeseed Exports and Growth in Oilseed Production in 2025
The European Commission forecasts that in the 2025/26 season, rapeseed imports to the EU-27 countries will decrease, due to a significant increase in domestic production of this crop, especially in Romania. Over the past year, Romanian farmers have harvested a record rapeseed crop that significantly exceeds the average of the previous five years.

Record Rapeseed Exports from Romania
Thanks to high yields, rapeseed exports from Romania to European Union countries have reached record levels. An additional factor contributing to the growth of exports has been the increased demand for rapeseed oil in the European market. This has made Romania one of the key suppliers of oilseeds to EU countries and other partners.
Dynamics of Sunflower Yields and Prices
At the same time, analysts estimate that the forecast for sunflower yields in Romania continues to decline, while prices for this crop show a trend of increase both at DAP bases and FOB Constanta port. The main reason for this is the consistently high export rates of Romanian sunflower outside the European Union.
In 2025/26, the European Commission expects a decrease in rapeseed imports to the EU due to the growth of local production, especially in Romania. The country achieved a record rapeseed harvest in 2025, significantly exceeding the average five-year figure.
In the agricultural market, analysts recommend paying attention to professional reviews and forecasts regarding the dynamics of agricultural markets in Ukraine and the Black Sea region to formulate an effective business strategy.
