Ingredients for Pickling Mackerel
- 1 fresh mackerel
- 0.5 liters of water
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 2 bay leaves
- 5 black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar
Method for Preparing Quick Pickled Mackerel
- Clean the mackerel, remove the skin and backbone, and rinse thoroughly.
- In a pot, bring the water to a boil, then add salt, sugar, bay leaves, and pepper. Boil the brine for an additional 2 minutes after it reaches a boil.
- Allow the brine to cool completely. After cooling, add the vinegar and mix well.
- Pour the brine over the fish and seal tightly with a lid. Leave to marinate in the refrigerator at a temperature of about 4°C.
- After a day, cut the fillet into serving pieces and serve. The fish can be eaten just 24 hours after pickling.
