Sowing of Spring Grain Crops Has Started in All Regions of Ukraine
As of April 14, 2026, farms of all categories in every region of Ukraine have begun the sowing campaign for spring grains and legumes. According to operational data, 997 thousand hectares have already been sown, which accounts for 17% of the projected area for these crops.

Main Indicators of the Sowing Campaign
A total of 128.5 thousand hectares of spring wheat, 528.7 thousand hectares of spring barley, 209.8 thousand hectares of peas, 100.3 thousand hectares of oats, 0.3 thousand hectares of millet, and 0.1 thousand hectares of corn have been sown. The largest areas were sown by farmers in Odesa, Ternopil, and Mykolaiv regions.
By region, the leaders have the following results:
- Odesa Region — 164.5 thousand hectares (wheat — 10 thousand hectares, barley — 35 thousand hectares, peas — 95 thousand hectares, oats — 1.2 thousand hectares);
- Ternopil Region — 81 thousand hectares (wheat — 13.3 thousand hectares, barley — 58.4 thousand hectares, peas — 4.1 thousand hectares, oats — 4.6 thousand hectares);
- Mykolaiv Region — 79.3 thousand hectares (wheat — 3 thousand hectares, barley — 41.5 thousand hectares, peas — 33.1 thousand hectares, oats — 0.5 thousand hectares).
Situation with Technical and Oilseed Crops
Simultaneously, the sowing of technical crops is ongoing, with 126.8 thousand hectares already sown. Sugar beets have been sown on 68.6 thousand hectares, which is 35% of the planned area.
Sowing of sunflowers has started in thirteen regions of Ukraine. This process has involved Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernivtsi regions. In total, 58.1 thousand hectares have already been sown with this crop.
In Dnipropetrovsk, sowing of corn has begun, while in Lviv region, farmers have already started sowing soybeans — 0.1 thousand hectares of this crop have been sown.
