Import Dynamics and Price Situation
Overall, since the beginning of 2025, China has imported 86.18 million tons of soybeans, which is 5.3% higher than the figure for the same period last year. At the same time, the total expenditure on soybean purchases decreased by 7.9%, amounting to 38.32 billion USD.
The change in key suppliers positively affected the price dynamics. In particular, the average purchase price of soybeans was 444.65 USD per ton, which is 12.5% lower than last year. Thus, China was able to increase import volumes while simultaneously reducing costs due to more favorable purchasing conditions.
Impact on the Domestic Market and Prices of Processed Products
Against the backdrop of rising imports, there has been a further decline in soybean meal prices in China. Over the past week, domestic prices for this product fell by more than 2%. Soybean stocks in the country reached a record level of 6.8 million tons, significantly impacting pricing policy in the domestic market.
“The change in key suppliers played a positive role in the monetary valuation of purchased goods. The average purchase price was 444.65 USD per ton, which is 12.5% lower than a year earlier.”
