Situation in the Sunflower Market
Most processors reduced their purchases, explaining this by their plans for the summer period. Some reported that in the coming months, they would focus primarily on processing rapeseed, while others expect the arrival of the new sunflower harvest to resume active purchasing of this crop.
Price Guidelines and Supply
Demand prices for sunflower were recorded in the range of 25,000 to 26,200 UAH per ton on a CPT basis. Meanwhile, actual transactions were most often made at rates close to 25,600 UAH per ton CPT.
The supply of sunflower on the market remained quite large; however, most batches were characterized by small volumes.
“Some companies noted that they plan to process rapeseed in the summer, while others said they will wait for the new sunflower harvest.”
