Sunflower Prices in Ukraine Decrease Due to Increased Supply

This is reported by AgroReview
From February 20 to 27, a decrease in sunflower prices was recorded in the Ukrainian market. The price of this oilseed crop dropped by 1,500 UAH and currently stands at 28,500 UAH per ton, which is equivalent to 659.48 USD per ton.
Main Reasons for the Price Drop
The decrease in sunflower prices is primarily explained by the increase in supply volumes in the market and the replenishment of raw material stocks at processing enterprises. This has led to the formation of price pressure, as analysts had predicted.
As anticipated, the increase in supply and the replenishment of raw material stocks at processors created pressure.
The situation in the global oil market, as well as the supply of Argentine sunflower to Europe, particularly to Bulgaria, also has an additional impact on pricing. Growing competition from Argentine products affects the price dynamics in the Ukrainian segment.

Prospects for the Domestic Market
In the future, the need to replenish raw material stocks at processing enterprises is expected to support the domestic sunflower market. This could stabilize prices amid the current decline.
