Sunflower Prices in Ukraine Rise to 28.4 Thousand UAH per Ton at Some Plants

Ukraine is experiencing a significant increase in sunflower prices — at some processing enterprises, the price of this crop has risen by 1 thousand UAH per ton over the past few days. According to broker Volodymyr Levkovskyi, this increase is related to market changes and a number of production factors.

Current Sunflower Prices in Different Regions

As of mid-January 2026, at the Staro-Kostiantyniv Special Economic Zone, the company “Kernel” offered a purchase price of 26.4 thousand UAH per ton. In the Dnipropetrovsk Special Economic Zone in Kropyvnytskyi, the price was 27.1 thousand UAH. At the “Berezanskyi Special Economic Zone” (Kyiv region), an offer of 28 thousand UAH per ton is recorded, which is one thousand UAH more than two days ago. At the Uman plant “Golden Dragon,” the price has now reached 28.4 thousand UAH per ton.

Factors Influencing Price Increases

Representatives of processing enterprises note that further price increases are restrained by rising operational costs. Due to regular power outages, most plants are forced to operate on generators, which increases production costs. An exception is the “Kernel” enterprise, which uses husks as an energy source. Additionally, the increase in costs for domestic logistics and freight also affects pricing.

“Even when there are no direct hits, shipments are going worse: power outages, alarms, weather. Vessels do not always arrive as planned and sometimes remain in Sulina for a long time. Essentially, we are not working in rhythm, but in ‘bursts,'” said Yuriy Sharapaiev, director of Prime Grain Oil.

Thus, the situation in the sunflower market remains tense, and producers and traders are closely monitoring price dynamics and the working conditions of plants in various regions of the country.
