Support Programs for the Agricultural Sector of Transcarpathia: Results and Prospects

The implementation of support programs for the agricultural sector continues in the Transcarpathian region, allowing local entrepreneurs not only to develop their farms but also to increase their contribution to the region’s economy. During 2023–2024, 67 business entities received support under regional compensation programs.

According to Vasyl Ivanchо, the First Deputy Head of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration, nearly 29 million hryvnias were reimbursed in 2023:

• over 13.7 million hryvnias for the Livestock Development Program;
• 15.2 million hryvnias for the Crop Production Development Program.

In 2024, the amount of reimbursements exceeded 24.7 million hryvnias:

• 5.7 million hryvnias under the Livestock Support Program;
• 19 million hryvnias under the Crop Production Development Program.

Vasyl Ivanchо emphasized that financial support helps farmers operate stably and provides a significant economic effect. Thanks to the development of farms, tax revenues have significantly increased, contributing to budget replenishment. If in 2023 these 67 enterprises paid 16.3 million hryvnias in taxes to local budgets, in 2024 this amount rose to 27.6 million hryvnias.

“This is further proof that support for the agricultural sector not only has a targeted effect for enterprises but also strengthens the regional economy,” emphasized Vasyl Ivanchо.

Meanwhile, the sowing campaign for the 2025 harvest has already begun in Transcarpathia. To date, 0.2 thousand hectares of early grain crops have been sown, which is 7.4% of the forecast. A total of 167.1 thousand hectares are planned to be sown.
