In the farms of Rivne region, weak damage to plants by the gray sugar beet weevil has been noted, with damage estimated at approximately 2-5% of beet seedlings, and pest density around 0.2 individuals per sq.m.
Spread of Beet Fleas and Other Pests
Almost all sites are observing the emergence and concentration of beet fleas, shield bugs, and other pests near roadways and in old beet fields, particularly on lamb’s quarters weeds, which poses an additional threat to the crops.
Current Status and Forecast for Pest Development
On initial host plants such as viburnum and jasmine, the revival and feeding of leaf beet aphid larvae continue. Experts emphasize that the increase in temperature has contributed to the activation of pests on the crops, which may lead to a deterioration in crop conditions, thus it is necessary to take measures to control their population.
