The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the allocation of over 1.28 billion hryvnias from the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression for the implementation of 23 reconstruction projects initiated in previous years. The majority of the funds will go towards completing the construction of 20 multi-apartment residential buildings in four regions of the country, as well as the completion of a medical facility in Sumy Oblast and two educational institutions in Chernihiv Oblast.

Funding for Infrastructure Development and New Water Supply Systems

Additionally, the government approved the procedure for using 128 million hryvnias allocated in the state budget for financing railway infrastructure development projects in cooperation with the EU. This is an important step in modernizing the country’s transport system.

The company “Avtodoroga” also began construction of a new water supply network, stretching 67.8 kilometers, to provide drinking water to Mykolaiv in March. Currently, the city only receives technical water due to the destruction of infrastructure caused by Russian aggression. The project is estimated to cost 6.227 billion hryvnias and is planned to be completed within five months.

Last year, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development financed 640 projects totaling 17.7 billion hryvnias out of a total planned 25 billion. The main reasons for underfunding were bureaucratic obstacles, the low capacity of local authorities to quickly implement projects, and delays in public procurement.
