Initial Results of the Sowing Campaign
According to current data, nearly 50 thousand hectares have already been sown. On these areas, spring cereals and legumes, technical crops, vegetables, potatoes, as well as melons — watermelons and cantaloupes — are being planted.
It is worth noting that back in the fall of 2024, farmers in the region laid the foundation for the harvest by sowing winter crops. In particular, wheat, barley, and rapeseed were sown on an area of over 110 thousand hectares.
Farmers’ Resilience Despite Challenges
“Despite all the trials and tribulations that Russia has brought to the land of Kherson, our farmers continue to tirelessly sow the fields of Kherson region. And every year, the amount of land on which the best products are grown only increases,” emphasized Dmitry Butriy, the First Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, during a briefing.
