In the Ukrainian market, the demand for greenhouse tomatoes continues to decline sharply. Analysts note that the situation in the tomato market remains challenging, as major purchases are made by large retail chains that buy products in small batches to maintain their assortment.

The increase in the supply of vegetables, particularly due to the rise in import shipments from Turkey, has also influenced pricing policies. Currently, imported tomatoes from Turkey are sold at a price of 70-90 UAH/kg (approximately $1.68-2.17/kg), which is 17% cheaper than at the end of last week.

Tomato Prices Compared to Last Year

It is worth emphasizing that tomato prices in Ukraine today are already 12% lower compared to the end of March 2024. Market operators do not rule out the possibility of further price decreases, considering the stability of supply and insufficient demand for the product.
