Main Export Destinations for Corn

The largest volumes of exports were sent to Turkey — 722.9 thousand tons, as well as to Italy — 456.3 thousand tons. This confirms the leadership of European and Mediterranean countries among buyers of Ukrainian corn. Additionally, significant shipments were exported to Asia, particularly to South Korea (101.6 thousand tons) and China (58.0 thousand tons).

Recovery of Seaports and Corn Prices

Ukrainian seaports are gradually resuming operations even amid regular shelling from the Russian Federation. To ensure uninterrupted operations in the context of electricity shortages, diesel generators are being installed in the ports. The increase in unloading rates has led to a temporary shortage of corn in the ports, as exporters held back supplies due to the holiday period and uncertainty regarding the further operation of the ports after missile attacks.

“Seaports have gradually begun to resume operations amid active shelling from the aggressor, adapting to reduced electrical voltage and compensating for the electricity deficit by installing diesel generators.”

The spot price index for corn with CPT-port delivery (30 days) rose to $206, which is $2 higher compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, at the western border, the market remained sluggish due to the holiday season and vacations in European countries, with prices holding at €180 FCA Chop for delivery from February to May.
