Turkey Significantly Increased Imports of Ukrainian Barley in the 2025/26 Marketing Year
From July to November 2025, the export of Ukrainian barley amounted to 1.2 million tons. This is 37% less than in the corresponding period of the previous marketing year and represents 46% of the projected export potential for this crop.

In November 2025, barley exports from Ukraine totaled 78.2 thousand tons, which is 50% lower compared to the same month in 2024. The main importing countries during this period were China, which purchased 42% of the total export volume, Turkey with a share of 20%, and Libya, accounting for 12% of the supplies.
Turkey Increases Import Volumes
There has been a particularly noticeable increase in barley imports from Turkey. According to analysts, in the current season, Turkey increased its purchases of Ukrainian barley by 6.4 times compared to last year: the country acquired 233 thousand tons compared to 36 thousand tons in the previous season. At the same time, China reduced its imports of this crop by 31%, and Libya by 37%.

It is projected that in the 2025/26 marketing year, the export potential of Ukrainian barley will reach 2.5 million tons, which is 11% more than in the previous season. The gross harvest of this cereal crop is estimated at 5.3 million tons.
