According to the Main Department of the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service in the Vinnytsia region, laboratory tests confirmed that the identified batch of zucchini contained an excessive amount of nitrates, posing a potential threat to consumer health. Under current legislation, food products that do not meet safety requirements cannot enter the market.
Specialists from the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service conducted explanatory work with the market operator regarding compliance with food safety standards. The owner of the cargo, understanding the risks to consumers and the responsibility for possible consequences, decided to voluntarily destroy the product.

The head of the Main Department of the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service in the Vinnytsia region, Andriy Yakymchuk, emphasized that systematic work on food quality control plays a key role in preventing the entry of low-quality and potentially dangerous products into the market.
