Ukraine Expands Pea and Corn Exports to Asian and Middle Eastern Markets
Ukrainian farmers have gained new opportunities to expand the export of agricultural products. Experts note that India remains the largest importer of Ukrainian peas, and starting in 2025, the Chinese market will also become accessible for this crop. Currently, the first shipments of peas to China are being agreed upon, opening new prospects for domestic producers.

Growth of Pea Exports and Its Impact on Sown Areas
As of today, Ukraine ranks sixth to seventh among the world’s pea exporters, although before the full-scale war, it was among the top three leaders in the global market. However, the increase in export volumes is contributing to the expansion of areas planted with this crop—this year alone, over 600 thousand tons of peas have already been harvested. This gives Ukrainian farmers a chance to regain lost positions and strengthen their presence in international markets.
Demand for Ukrainian Corn in Turkey and North Africa
At the same time, there is stable demand for Ukrainian corn in Turkey, attributed to its competitive price. Ukrainian corn is approximately 25 dollars cheaper than local products, making it particularly attractive for Turkish importers.
The Ukrainian-Arab Business Chamber notes that Ukraine remains one of the leaders in global corn exports, and this status is especially important for the markets of the Middle East and North Africa. The proximity of Ukrainian ports to the Mediterranean Sea, along with a favorable price-to-quality ratio of corn, allows Ukraine to strengthen its position in these regional markets.
Ukraine currently ranks 6th to 7th among the world’s pea exporters, although it was among the top three before the full-scale war.
