The oilseed sector in Ukraine is preparing for a new season amid expectations of production recovery after a year of shortages. The beginning of spring 2026 is marked by favorable weather conditions for the development of spring crops. The structure of sown areas is gradually transforming in favor of crops with the highest margins, particularly sunflowers. High purchase prices for this crop are stimulating farmers’ interest in growing oilseeds.

Development Vector: Domestic Processing and Export of Products

In the new season, a key trend will be the shift in focus from raw material exports to the development of domestic processing. This process is being reinforced by export duties on soybeans and rapeseed, making processing within the country more economically attractive. An increase in the loading of processing enterprises and a rise in the export of processed products, particularly oil and meal, is expected.
