Situation in the Pear Market
According to the expert, final statistics on the number of pears harvested are not yet available, but certain conclusions about the season can already be drawn. Pears in Ukraine are traditionally grown mainly for fresh consumption. They are rarely used for processing, and the volumes of quality products for long-term storage remain insufficient.
“However, certain conclusions can already be made. Pears are primarily for the fresh market. They are never really used for processing. In fact, there have never been enough pears in Ukraine, especially in terms of good quality for storage,” noted the expert.
Apples: Stable Harvest and Profitable Exports
As for apples, the situation is also positive. Despite some difficulties, this year’s harvest has proven to be better than last year’s. Additionally, prices for apples remain high and attractive for producers. Exporters are not facing significant issues with sales: Ukrainian apples are successfully supplied to both Asian and Eastern markets, as well as to European countries.
