Ukrainian export activity in the flax market has shown steady growth for four consecutive months. This revival is linked to increased demand from foreign buyers, predominantly from European Union countries.

Export Structure and Key Partners

In October 2025, Ukraine exported 7,650 tons of flax, surpassing the figures from the previous month (6,070 tons). The largest volumes were purchased by France – 43.1% of total exports, followed by Poland with 16.8%, and Italy in third place with 11.4%.

Export Dynamics and Price Situation

The growth in flax export volumes began back in July 2025, when the active phase of harvesting this crop started. At that time, 1,370 tons were delivered to international markets, and by August, this figure had risen to 3,300 tons. The active supply of flax in the market creates conditions for price reductions: over the last month, the maximum demand prices for flax in the country’s ports decreased by 800 UAH per ton. As of November 6, prices typically do not exceed 28,500 UAH/ton under CPT-port conditions.

“A sufficient supply of flax encourages buyers to lower prices. Thus, the maximum demand prices for flax in Ukraine’s ports have decreased by 800 UAH/ton over the month and as of November 6 typically do not exceed 28,500 UAH/ton CPT-port.”
