Export and Logistics Features
2024 was a record year for Ukraine over the last decade, linked to the gradual recovery of the global honey market after a significant decline in 2023. The European Union remains the largest importer of Ukrainian honey, accounting for 82% of the total export volume. The United States purchased 15% of the products, while Israel and Japan each accounted for 1%.
Due to the priority of the European market, exporters most often used land logistics routes. About 83% of the honey was transported by trucks and rail through the “Solidarity Lanes,” with another 10% through Danube ports, while only 2% of the export went through the Black Sea ports.
Experts note that “Ukraine has confidently secured its place among the top five global honey exporters, demonstrating record figures in 2024 despite the war.”
The high share of exports to the EU and established logistics contribute to the stability of the industry even under conditions of limited access to seaports.
