Ukraine Reduces Grain and Flour Exports in the 2024/2025 Marketing Year

As of May 12, 2025, the volumes of grain and legume exports from Ukraine in the 2024/2025 marketing year amounted to 36.396 million tons. This is a decrease of 6.81 million tons or 18.7% compared to the same period last year.

Export Dynamics of Key Crops

Wheat shipments abroad reached 14.282 million tons, which is 2.13 million tons (14.9%) less than in the same period last year. Barley exports totaled 2.283 million tons, while rye accounted for 10.8 thousand tons.

A significant reduction was also recorded in corn exports: farmers sent 19.308 million tons of this crop to foreign markets, which is 4.761 million tons (24.6%) lower than last year’s figures.

Flour Export Volumes

Ukraine exported 60.3 thousand tons of flour, which is equivalent to 80.4 thousand tons of grain. This is a decrease of 28.9 thousand tons or 47.9% compared to last year.

“In addition, 60.3 thousand tons of flour (or 80.4 thousand tons in terms of grain) were sent abroad, which is 28.9 thousand tons or 47.9% less than last year.”
