Ukraine Significantly Increased Soybean and Rapeseed Oil Exports to the EU in 2024-2025 Marketing Year
Ukrainian producers continue to ramp up exports of soybean and rapeseed oil, with the lion’s share of the product going to European Union countries. In the 2024-2025 marketing year, the volumes of soybean oil supplied to foreign markets increased by 52.5%, reaching 521.3 thousand tons. In monetary terms, the export of this product rose by 98% – to $521.7 million compared to last year. A notable increase was also observed in the export of soybean meal, highlighting the high demand for products from Ukraine and providing the country with significant potential for further development of exports of value-added goods.

Leading Countries Among Importers of Ukrainian Soybean Oil
The European Union remains the main market for Ukrainian soybean oil – 85% of total exports were sent to EU countries. The largest buyers were Poland, which imported 345.3 thousand tons worth $344.5 million, Germany – 22 thousand tons for $22 million, and Bulgaria – 17.9 thousand tons for $16.3 million. Other important trading partners included India (36.7 thousand tons for $35.3 million), Saudi Arabia (11 thousand tons for $11 million), and the United Arab Emirates (7.2 thousand tons for $8.2 million).
Growth of Rapeseed Oil Exports
In July-August 2025, approximately 60 thousand tons of rapeseed were processed in Ukraine, allowing for the production and export of 25 thousand tons of rapeseed oil. The introduction of an export duty on soybeans and rapeseed in September led to an increase in rapeseed oil exports to 108.8 thousand tons. The main consumers of this product were European Union countries, which imported 84.5% of the total volume.
