In Ukraine, the price of early white cabbage is decreasing due to excess supply
The Ukrainian market is experiencing a further decline in prices for early white cabbage, which is linked to the seasonal increase in the supply of the new harvest and low demand for this product.

Main reasons for the price drop
According to representatives of the agricultural sector, producers are forced to reduce the selling prices of cabbage in response to active mass shipments: most farms have already begun harvesting and selling early cabbage from the 2025 crop. An additional factor has been the restrained growth in demand — due to the limited shelf life of the vegetable, wholesale and retail buyers are forming stocks in small batches, not rushing into large purchases.
Current price situation in the market
As of today, new season white cabbage is being offered for sale at a price of 24–32 UAH/kg (equivalent to $0.58–0.77 per kilogram), which is on average 20% lower than at the end of the previous working week.
At the same time, despite the significant decrease over the past week, the price of cabbage from the 2025 crop remains approximately 3.6 times higher compared to the same period last year.
“The main reason for the negative price adjustment in this segment is attributed by producers to the seasonal increase in the supply of new harvest vegetables, as well as the rather low demand for this product.”
