The newly formed association consists of 16 companies that share a common goal: to develop the national blueberry sector, enhance product quality, and increase its export potential. Association members also plan to collaborate in the areas of cultivation, international distribution, and marketing, according to information provided by the Fruitnet resource.
Association Members and Their Goals
The association brings together producers who grow about 20% of blueberries in Ukraine on 850 hectares, including companies such as “Zahar-Sad,” “Agro Frutika Byshkiv,” “Agromix Zakarpattia,” “Artberry,” “Berry Hills,” “Blue Berry,” “Family Garden,” “Grass Avenue,” “Green,” “Lasky,” “Nikdaria,” “Organic Garden,” “Orniberry,” “Tarasiv Obriy,” “Vian 2021,” and “Vitamin UA.”
The president of the association, Natalia Pukshyn from Blue Berry, noted that the Ukrainian blueberry industry has the potential for significant achievements in the coming months and years, despite the ongoing armed conflict. She emphasized that “The first year of the association’s operation will take place amid a full-scale war, which creates additional risks and challenges.” The overall goal for the first year is to create a cohesive community of blueberry producers equipped with knowledge and tools for development, as well as to lay the foundation for further industry growth, despite existing challenges.
New Executive Director
The executive director of the association is Ivan Hrechkovskyi, the head of the company “Family Garden,” highlighting the importance of professional management in achieving the association’s goals.
