Ukrainian Grain Exports in 2025/26 Marketing Year Decreased by 29.2%

As of January 16, 2026, Ukraine has exported 16.92 million tons of grains and legumes within the 2025/26 marketing year. This figure is 6.98 million tons or 29.2% lower compared to the same period last year.

Export Dynamics of Major Grain Crops

The volume of wheat exported from Ukraine reached 8.24 million tons, which is 2.09 million tons or 20.2% less than in the same period last year. Barley exports amounted to 1.32 million tons, which is 34.1% lower than the previous year’s level. Additionally, this season, 0.2 thousand tons of rye were sent abroad.

Current Situation of Corn and Flour Exports

Exports of Ukrainian corn totaled 7.07 million tons, which is 4.09 million tons or 36.6% less than last season. Furthermore, 36 thousand tons of flour were exported (equivalent to 48 thousand tons in grain terms), which is 3.4 thousand tons or 8.6% less compared to last year.

As of January 16, in the 2025/26 marketing year, Ukraine exported 16 million 921 thousand tons of grains and legumes, which is 6 million 983 thousand tons or 29.2% less than last year.

The decrease in grain and flour exports compared to the previous year is attributed to changes in the global market, as well as the impact of internal and external factors on Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
