Main Performance Indicators of Ukrainian Ports in the First Quarter of 2025
The highest cargo handling was recorded in the ports of Greater Odesa, which processed 20.7 million tons of cargo since the beginning of the year. Other ports also demonstrated significant results:
- Port of Pivdenny — 10.6 million tons;
- Chornomorsk Port — 6.6 million tons;
- Odesa Port — 3.5 million tons.
Additionally, the ports of the Danube region — Izmail, Reni, and Ust-Dunaisk — collectively handled over 2.3 million tons of cargo, indicating stable operation of the region’s transport infrastructure.
Reasons for the Decline in Cargo Volume and Development Prospects
The AMP noted that the decrease in cargo handling volumes is due to a reduction in agricultural land and a decline in production in export-oriented sectors, particularly metallurgy. This trend impacts the overall business activity indicator of the country’s ports.
In the context of the development of the grain and oil market in Ukraine and the Black Sea region, a discussion is planned at the 23rd International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV, which will take place on April 24 in Kyiv. The event will serve as a platform for strategic discussions and networking with industry leaders, contributing to the identification of prospects for further development.
