Significant Share of Exports Through Western Land Crossings
As reported by Valerii Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Transportation Technology and Commercial Operations Department at JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia,” during an online meeting with participants in the agricultural market, the lion’s share of the meal, specifically 71%, was exported through the western land crossings. This amounts to 1 million 980 thousand tons. The remaining 29% of the meal was exported through sea ports, totaling 810.6 thousand tons.
Figures Exceeded the Levels of the Last Five Years
“Of the 2 million 791 thousand tons, the lion’s share of the meal — 71% — was exported through the western land crossings, accounting for 1 million 980 thousand tons. Through the ports, 29% of the meal was exported, which is 810.6 thousand tons,” noted Valerii Tkachev.
According to Valerii Tkachev, in terms of meal export volumes, 2025 became the third highest year in the company’s history, surpassed only by the record years of 2019 and 2020. This result confirms the stable development of the export capabilities of the Ukrainian railway and the growing demand for the transportation of agricultural products by rail.
