Updated Potato Prices in Ukraine: Market Analysis and Forecasts
The Ukrainian potato market is experiencing relative price stability. The cost of this popular vegetable remains at a consistent level, showing no significant fluctuations in either direction. This situation has arisen due to a balance between supply and demand: farmers are providing sufficient harvest volumes, while consumer interest remains stable.

Potato Price Dynamics in 2025
According to analytical data, the highest potato prices this year were recorded at the beginning of August. At that time, the average cost per kilogram reached about 30 hryvnias, marking the price peak of the season. However, with the arrival of the new harvest in September, the situation changed significantly: market supply increased, and prices noticeably dropped. The average price fell almost by half — to approximately 17.15 UAH/kg, and throughout September, it remained at this level without significant fluctuations.
In October, potato prices stabilized within the range of 15-16 UAH/kg and have remained at this level for over a week. As of October 10, 2025, the following prices for potatoes were recorded in the largest supermarkets in Ukraine:
- ATB — 13.45 UAH/kg;
- Metro — 13.80 UAH/kg;
- Fora — 13.90 UAH/kg;
- Auchan — 14.70 UAH/kg;
- VARUS — 14.70 UAH/kg;
- NOVUS — 14.99 UAH/kg;
- Silpo — 16.80 UAH/kg;
- Mega Market — 18.90 UAH/kg.
Expert Forecasts and Advice on Future Prices
The General Director of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, Pavlo Koval, noted that almost all vegetables from the borscht set, including potatoes, will increase in price by the end of October. According to him, the end of September to the beginning of October is the most favorable time to buy vegetables at a low price.
Thus, experts advise consumers not to postpone vegetable purchases, as price increases are expected by the end of October. Currently, the situation in the potato market is favorable for buyers, but dynamics may change as we approach the end of autumn.
