USDA Maintains Corn Production Forecast for Ukraine for the 2025/26 Marketing Year

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released an updated forecast for global corn production for the 2025/26 marketing year. According to the January report, total corn production is expected to reach 1,296.01 million tons, which is 13 million tons higher than the previous estimate.

Global Trends and Forecasts

Global corn exports are projected at 205.1 million tons, which is only slightly above the previous estimate by 0.01 million tons. Ending corn stocks worldwide, according to the new forecast, will amount to 290.91 million tons, an increase of 11.76 million tons compared to the previous report.

Situation in Ukraine and Major Exporting Countries

The corn harvest forecast for Ukraine for the 2025/26 marketing year remains unchanged at 29 million tons. The export forecasts also remain unchanged at 23 million tons, while ending stocks are estimated at 0.85 million tons.

In the United States, the projected corn production has been raised to 432.34 million tons, which is 6.81 million tons more than the previous estimate. The export forecast remains at 81.28 million tons, while ending stocks have increased by 5.03 million tons to 56.56 million tons.

Figures for other key corn exporters for the 2025/26 marketing year are as follows:

• Argentina: harvest — 53 million tons, export — 37 million tons, stocks — 5.89 million tons.
• Brazil: harvest — 131 million tons, export — 43 million tons, stocks — 3.68 million tons (+0.15).
• Russia: harvest — 14.5 million tons, export — 3 million tons, stocks — 1.06 million tons.
• South Africa: harvest — 16.5 million tons, export — 2 million tons, stocks — 2.01 million tons.

In China, the corn harvest is estimated at 301.24 million tons (an increase of 6.24 million tons), imports are projected at 8 million tons, and ending stocks are expected to rise to 180.15 million tons (+6.24 million tons).
