USDA Prepares November Report on Corn and Soybean Yields in the US
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is actively gathering information to prepare its upcoming report on the yields of key agricultural crops. The document is scheduled for release on November 14 and will include the first updated government data on corn and soybean yields and production in the US since September 12. At that time, the main harvests were just beginning in the Midwest, and this year’s October report was not published due to the shutdown.

Overview of the Upcoming USDA Report
In addition to detailed assessments of corn and soybeans, the November USDA report will cover information on the harvest of other important crops. Specifically, the document will present data on cotton, peanuts, potatoes, rice, sorghum, sugar beets, and sugarcane. To prepare the report, the agency’s specialists use both farmer and agribusiness survey results and administrative data, allowing for the most accurate yield forecasts.
Information Gathering and Forecasting
According to employees of the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, the information gathering process follows standard procedures. The main goal is to confirm and update previous forecasts based on actual field data and official reports.
“We are collecting the necessary survey data and administrative data to confirm the forecasts presented in the report,” said Lance Honig, an official from the National Agricultural Statistics Service of the USDA. “We use standard collection procedures for the surveys.”
The publication of the November USDA report is significant for participants in the US agricultural market, as updated yield estimates affect work planning, market prices, and subsequent decisions in the sector.
