Vinnytsia Farmers Complete Harvest and Prepare Fields for Winter Crops

In the Vinnytsia region, agricultural producers are actively completing the harvest of major grain and leguminous crops. Over 434 thousand hectares have been processed, yielding more than 2.4 million tons of grain with an average yield of 55.6 quintals per hectare.

Yield Indicators for Major Crops

The harvesting of late cereal crops has been completed in the fields. Buckwheat has been harvested with an average yield of 15.8 quintals per hectare, and millet at 37 quintals per hectare. These results exceed last year’s figures and indicate a positive trend in the region’s agricultural production.

The harvesting of sunflower and soybeans is still ongoing. Sunflower has been harvested from 11% of the area, with a yield of 32 quintals per hectare. Soybeans have been harvested from 32% of the sown area with an average yield of 24.6 quintals per hectare.

Status of Sugar Beet Harvest and Preparation for Winter Crop Sowing

Sugar beets have been harvested from 13% of the fields, with a total volume exceeding 240 thousand tons, and the average yield has reached 417.8 quintals per hectare, which also surpasses last year’s data. Four out of five sugar factories in the region are already operational, having processed 140 thousand tons of beets and produced 16 thousand tons of sugar.

Meanwhile, farmers in the region are actively preparing areas for winter crops to form the harvest for 2026. A total of 27 thousand hectares of winter wheat, 2 thousand hectares of winter barley, and 0.4 thousand hectares of winter rye have already been sown. Winter rapeseed occupies 110 thousand hectares.

According to representatives of the agricultural sector, the technical and material support of enterprises in the region allows for the completion of all autumn fieldwork within optimal agro-technical timelines.
