Electric Cars Lead Imports in Ukraine in November, Tesla Model Y Takes the Lead
In November 2025, a significant change occurred in the Ukrainian used car market: for the first time, electric cars massively outpaced traditional vehicles in terms of registrations. According to the Institute for Market Research, 23,700 imported passenger cars were registered during the month. This is a 57.4% increase compared to November of last year.

Electric Cars Become the New Market Leaders
The main reason for this growth, experts say, is the expiration of incentives for electric cars. Starting January 1, 2026, the mandatory VAT for importing such vehicles will return, which will lead to an increase in electric car prices by at least 20%. This has prompted Ukrainians to buy electric cars in large numbers at the end of the year.
“November 2025 will go down in history as the month when ‘electric cars’ confidently took the lead,” experts say.
Most Popular Brands and Models of November
The most in-demand brand in November was Volkswagen, with 3,094 of its cars registered. Audi came in second with 2,213 registrations, while Tesla secured third place (2,161 cars), despite the fact that this brand is not officially represented in Ukraine. Experts point out the unique case where the ‘grey’ import of electric cars surpassed the official industry leaders.
Significant changes occurred in the model rankings: the long-time import favorite Volkswagen Golf dropped to third place. The compact electric crossover Tesla Model Y took first place in November (922 registrations), followed by Tesla Model 3 (850 cars). Among the leaders are also the budget electric car Nissan Leaf and the popular Skoda Octavia, which traditionally attract buyers.
